Male Fake-Tan Tutorial - Step By Step Guide!!!!

This is my step-by-step routine for Men (or anyone really) to achieve that real looking glow using fake tan.

Being male, we have very different skin to women, we have thicker hair on our arms and legs, stubble etc. so it's important to prep before you tan.

STEP 1

Preparing to be bronzed!!

To get the best colour and length out of your fake tan it's essential to follow these instructions.

In the shower one day before tanning you should exfoliate using a body scrub (My favourite is Rub Rub Rub from Lush @ £8.50) and a loufa. This will get rid of all of the dead skin and leave you will a nice, clean canvas for your fake tan!

Once out the shower and you're dried off, lather your body with your favourite moisturiser (My favourite is the Blueberry Body Butter from The Body Shop @ £13).

STEP 2

Now you are ready to go!!

Quickly before tanning add some extra moisturiser to your ankles, knees, elbows and knuckles to work as a barrier because those are the driest areas and the tan will cling onto them.

Now, with a tanning mitt, spray and lightly buff the fake tan (My favourite is Lauren's Way Man Tan @ £11.95 from eBay) all over your body making sure you haven't missed anywhere.

Tip: For us single people doing your tan in front of a long mirror helps to see if all your body is covered and is easier to see the hard to reach areas. But if you have a partner, ask them for some help to do your back, because it's the hardest bit to reach!!!

From Pale To Dark Male!!

Pretty soon you will see that you have became a nice tanned colour! Now walk around for 10 mins, tidy up the mess you have made on the floor or fix the little mistakes you have made. This will give the tan time to set and dry off!

Put on some loose clothes, and either go about you're daily business or, like I do, follow this routine before bed then sleep with the tan on and wash it off in the morning.

CAUTION: This tan does have the normal fake tan smell, but I find that this particular tan's scent isn't as potent as others. Remember when washing in the shower use a good shower gel and when out of the shower just pat your skin dry. Also try not to take a bath anytime soon as that will definitely remove your tan.

AFTER TAN CARE & HELP

Now, baby wipes are perfect for correcting areas that have went a bit wrong eg. Knuckles or elbows.

For my face, I tend not to use the actual tan product as my face is very dry and sensitive so I prefer using a gradual tanning lotion (My favourite is the St Tropez Everyday Gradual Lotion from Superdrug). This helps keep my face glowing and moisturised. Try and keep it away from your facial hair though because it will cling and tint it.

Moisturise your body daily to ensure your tan fades evenly and there you have it! A perfect bronzed glow all year round!

WRAPPING IT UP!!

I hope this helped the various males around the world that need some help tanning or even overcoming that fear of their first fake tan! It's easy and a real confidence booster. Who said fake tan is just for girls?!

Thanks guys, have a great weekend!
